About our cafe

Tucked away on Albion St, between Sydney Rd and Lygon St – off the busy nearby main drags, our little gem has character, energy, funk and great vibe in the grain of the bespoke furniture! Enjoy a delicious sweet treat brought to you by our friendly staff who obviously enjoy being at work.

If you live locally, this is your place to be. If you’re just visiting, you might want to consider moving house. We hear the coffee is great!

Everything is familiar enough to be a home away from home, which is heavily frequented by locals, and yet unique in its niche backstreet hideaway.

Global dishes in a simple, wood-accented cafe, plus an outside area with milk-crate seats – our menu is strong on vegan options, with a variety of beverage choices, ranging from a wide array of kombucha drinks, smoothies and juices, to a full bar. We serve paper straws with our drinks (no plastics).

We are family friendly, have pram space, highchairs and we love a great fluffy babycino! The kids go wild for our gingerbread and hot choccies too!

At any time of the day, our signature A Minor Place Breakfast is superb, with ham, minced savoury mushrooms, avo, poached eggs, tall fluffy rosti. Perfect with a dash of your favourite book or a smattering of a catch up with an old friend. Meet a client here on a weekday morning over the ‘Mumbler’ for breakfast and you’ll be glad you did. It is an outstanding meat-free breakfast. Perfectly cooked poached eggs, on crunchy grain toast, layered with a sensational pesto and dukka. You won’t find a better breakfast – did we mention the coffee is excellent?
